FIX your scratch sound! | 2 exercises you NEED to master. (Tone series 1/6)

The 1st of 6 videos detailing how to develop beautiful, seamless violin tone. This video focuses on the foundations of tone production. It describes the physics/mechanics of pulling good sound and then focuses on mastering the bow hold. I share two fundamental exercises that help not only to find the POSITION of the hand, but help you find the proper FEELING as well. Here's a description of each video in the series: 1. Foundations: bow hold and rabbits https://youtu.be/qmpuoNFV_Fc 2. Pulling a straight bow at the balance point (Tuck-a-s) https://youtu.be/E272gFiJ660 3. Expanding to full whole bows using arm weight https://youtu.be/kYe5gUrOWYA 4. Using scales to develop bow control at every bow speed. https://youtu.be/CvmCHv-ngfE 5. The 3 main variables to color your sound https://youtu.be/J3xPls-vHCY 6. Listening is how your ear develops a sense of quality tone so it's critical to choose your recordings carefully. I often recommend to my students and parents that they put it on repeat and fall asleep to the recording. The brain processes and learns even while sleeping. Happy listening!
